When Claudia reached out to me about wanting to document the season of life she and her husband, Evan, were in before their baby was due in early January, I knew right away they would be a wonderful client fit. She shared that she wanted the emphasis to be on them as a couple, since becoming parents is a life-changing season for them both. After Claudia selected her favorite spot from my Dallas Photography Locations Guide and we did some quick style prep, we were all set for their session.
Before the session, I had scoped out which estates along the side streets had the best light at that time of day, allowing us to move seamlessly from one setting to the next without losing that soft evening light! After meeting up at the park, we started by the lake, capturing a mix of images that highlighted Claudia and Evan as a couple, ones that emphasized the bump, thoughtful detail shots, and a few solo portraits of each of them to keep the gallery feeling fresh!
Thankfully, as I had been driving to our meeting spot earlier that afternoon, I had caught a glimpse of Christmas greenery decorating a storefront at Highland Park Village and immediately knew it would be the perfect bonus location if time allowed.
We were lucky enough to still have plenty of daylight after finishing the main portion of the shoot, so I suggested stopping by for a few more images. With Christmas being so close to Claudia’s due date, it felt especially meaningful to incorporate that seasonal touch into their gallery. I absolutely loved this session and the way it captured not just a growing family, but a season of anticipation and joy!!
